RE: swine flu in philippines

Yah this is epidemic now. Here is US it is still an issue and presently we had 2 passed away with this dangerous flu going on. It could be prevented if we wash our hands always. Avoid crowds especially with coughing problems. Drink a lots of water. If sick stay home until get well. Have a check up right away if symptoms occured don't wait for a couple of days it might be too late. Eat plenty of veggies and fruits for a good immune system. Be attentive to your sorroundings or environment for unusual happenings. Keep clean if possible.
Swine flu changed to H1N1 now with same symptoms. Beware...have a good health!

it did not "change"
H1N1 is an influenza A virus that has various mutation strains, one being avian (seasonal) flu, endemic pig strains, and mild human flu strains.
so it did not change. it simply is the medical name for the subtype of the Infuenza A virus.
swine flu is common thru-out the pig population worldwide.
and so is human flu aka trangkaso because they have the same strain, H1N1

On August 2007, there have been an outbreak of swine flu in the Philippines but the mortality rate is less than 10% but more often than not, complications that were not immediately attended was the main causes of death.
and its the same with humans, we have a flu season, and if not taken cared of right ahead, complications may occur.

what happened in Mexico, the 2009 flu outbreak is due to a new strain of subtype H1N1 not previously reported in pigs.

so the threat is still there, because pigs are unusual as they can be infected with influenza strains that usually infect three different species: pigs, birds and humans.
this makes pigs a host where influenza viruses might exchange genes or mutate, producing new and dangerous strains.
new swine flu infections could have the following strains:
influenza C virus and the subtypes of the influenza A virus known as H1N1, H1N2, H3N1, H3N2, and H2N3.
