Corazon Aquino: Mother of Philippine democracy : May all citizens unite for national interest so that one day our country will prosper and no more OFW'S leave their families and work in the country in the future. No more street children, hunger and political turmoils.

before she'd taken the presidential seat, in the EARLY YEARS of Marcos term, under his leadership Philippines was economically strong (unfortunately, not as good compared to other developed countries) but in all of its history, it was stronger than it ever was and stronger than its current status, the value of our money were really good....unfortunately after that, we never achieved it again under the leadership of any other politicians.  NO other Phil. president ever made the country economically more independent. and i think it was on Aquino's term when Phil. economy started to fall and i dont remember anything significant that she had done to make our country better. the democracy we achieved after Marcos was never Aquino's doing, we can thank the senate and congress for that... and they just literally used Aquino as the face of those actions they've taken. when Benigno was assassinated, people started feeling sorry for her and she saw that as an opportunity to run for presidency....as much as i hate to say it, she won out of pity. because of that, Phils. started to suffer again, this time experiencing economic tragedies.

i totally agree with you with that one. if we just look at the EARLY YEARS of his term, i'll consider him as the best president we've ever had. before he went haywire, of course.

Thank you Bro for the contribution. You are entitled to your own opinion and i respect it. On the other side , Isn't it proper to set aside politics and use Pres. Aquino as an instrument for a common cause. Our country is so divided politically which is the mother of all miseries and turmoils and poverty. Unless we set aside our differences for the sake of our children, our country will continue to lag behind the economies of our neighboring countries.

I agree much progress were accompliced during the Marcos regime only politics have ruined the merits. Let us hope that in the late Pres. Aquino demise, our country will rise again where it should be.
