I'm travelling to Bangkok ; vietnam & maybe cambodia in november 2009

Can anyone recommend where to visit in Bangkok, Vietnam&Cambodia in November. I'm a single female traveller so I want to be safe but at the same time I want to have fun. Would anyone recommend going to a thai kickboxing event?

this is the usual plan i recommend to my friends everytime they come here, dont worry its cheap, around 500 USD (18,000 THB)

from the airport, go directly to pattaya city.  VIP bus -150.00 THB
hotel prices ranging from 300-1000 THB/day
what to see and what to do in pattaya city:
Beach
clubs (they have all kind of clubs, and i mean ALL KIND) - prices depends on club
thai girl show (not recommended for ages below 18 yrs. lol) - 250 THB
Muay Thai (kick boxing) - 300 THB
floating market - boat is 50 THB
temple tour - 8 THB per siong tiao ride (public transpo)
island hopping - 200 THB
Thai massage - 150 THB
elephant show - 500 THB
all kind of recreation (from drag racing to bungee jumping, they have it there)

from pattaya city, go back to bangkok.
what you can see in bangkok, pattaya also have it except the beach.

from bangkok go to aranya pratet (thailand-cambodia border) - VIP bus is 300 THB
what to see in aranya pratet: shoopping and casinos

from Aranya pratet, another bus -300 THB going to Angkor City in Cambodia
Angkor Wat - 1000 THB/hperson.
hotel prices ranging from 300-1000 THB/day.

but you can skip the Aranya Pratet tour if you want to go to Cambodia by plane.
just be careful with the time, Cambodia airport closes by 10 PM and open at 7 AM. lol
bangkok-cambodia plane ticket - 6000 TBH (250 USD). 1 hr
bangkok-Aranya pratet bus ticket - 150 THB   4 hours
Aranya pratet-Angkor city bus ticket - 350 THB   3 hours

then if you still have time you can fly to malysia or vietnam.
but theres a train or a VIP bus here going to malaysia, singapore and vietnam.

I plan on staying for 29 days just under the 30 day visa limit. Would love to just keep travelling though.

i see, good enough to enjoy thailand, dont worry, you'll have an additional 15 days after you crossed the border and/or if you come back here from cambodia..

if youre worried about your visa, stay in thailand for 29 days, go to Angkor City in cambodia, then go back to thailand, you'll get additional 30 days for that.

Thanx, That would be great but I don't think I can take an extra 30 days off from work maybe another 5 or 10 days depending on how much fun I'm having lol. A friend of mine told me not to travel by bus in Thailand as it's really cramped, dirty&sometimes people have their belongings stolen. Is that true? I would rather pay extra for the comfort & security. Is it safe to eat food from street stalls as well? I don't want to become sick on my trip.

This is so helpful. My homies and I are considering to visit Thailand this coming summer, probly this August. Is August a good month to visit Thailand? How's the general weather in Thailand at that month?

thats why i recommended the VIP bus (150 THB - 4 USD) air conditioned, with toilet, meals/snaks, and friendly stewards, your belongings are well taken care of, so dont worry, you'll be safe. the one your friend is talking about is the ordinary bus. yes, its filthy and cost 8 THB (25 cents USD)
seriously, im sure you can afford the VIP.

about the foods, if you really want to try Thai foods, the original ones are on the street, though restaurants also serve thai foods, its kinda modified, if you know what i mean.
The safety? well, none has been reported in food poisoning so far, so its safe, it now depends on your stomach.

@vince,
August is great. The weather here is the same as in the Philippines,  rain is very rare, raining twice a month is a blessing, but its not that hot compare to manila.

Thanx again lolo Jappy, I really appreciate your advice. I will def take the VIP buses lol. I will have to try the original thai food from the street vendors. Can't wait. I wish it was November now.

hi there, i am thinking of doing a return flight From Bangkok to Vietnam via Air Asia. Total price for 2 people is £86 pounds. Any1 flown with Air Asia b4 and are they any good? This price seems too good to be true!

I've found air asia is generally very cheap compared to other airlines but they are a budget airline so don't expect any luxury extras like food or drinks, you can purchace them though they can be a little expensive. For short trips they are great. I wouldn't last more than 3 hours in their cramped seats though. I would wait until your in Asia before booking flights as they are even cheaper, thats what me&my friend are doing in November.
