Your statement is precisely what is asked in that question. "Healing" in the question was meant to mean "growing the limb(s) back". The question spread around as mere "heal the amputees" (though usually a description about growing the limbs back entails the deliberation of the question), so people take it as self-explanatory. Personally, it never occured to me someone would take that question in the way you expressed it due to the already-explained reason.
I guess this misunderstanding happens because no one explain it well in this particular thread and just assume it would be understood that way.

But wait! According to the King James Bible..All fowls that creep, going upon all four, shall be an abomination unto you.
Other Bibles support the "birds" while other support the insects. Here's the problem: There are no bird (fowls) nor insects that have four legs.
So let see...if we are going to apply pablo's rule...According to entomology insects have 6 legs. Christian apologists says that the big back legs on the locust, etc. were not counted as "legs" in the same sense as the other legs. But according to entomologists, the hind leg of the locust is still a "leg". So who wil I trust, the Christian apologists who is trying very hard to cover Biblical errors or those who study insects?
These is also no 4 legged fowl. Ask any Ornithologists of there's a four-legged bird existing from the past till the present. Or maybe you could serch the whole globe for a four-legged bird.
Or we can just make our life simple, admit that the Bible has scientific errors.

obviously birds don't have 4 legs, they only have 2 legs but the Bible is very specific when He said "fowls that creep" and He describe what He mean "fowls that creep"
on the next verses if you have little patience to read, you will read the explanation of the leviticus 11:20 which describe what He further means of it.
21Yet these may ye eat of every flying creeping thing that goeth upon all four, which have legs above their feet, to leap withal upon the earth;
22Even these of them ye may eat; the locust after his kind, and the bald locust after his kind, and the beetle after his kind, and the grasshopper after his kind.

just give the Bible a chance to explain Himself before you jump to conclusion
