About Me:
I'm writing a book on the Save the Oaks campaign (www.saveoaks.com), and I may or may not be a character from I Heart Huckabees. I co-edit a self-published magazine (www.calpeacepower.org). I'm also a freelance writer... my latest piece, on Burning Man's efforts to go green, can be found here:
http://www.sierraclub.org/sierra/200807/burningman.asp
In my spare time, you can find me biking around the hills above berkeley, at live music shows, at burning man-related parties.
Recently, I've begun to experiment with raw food recipes. My favorites include vanilla-flavored almond milk and dehydrated veggie pulp buckwheat crackers.
I love to travel. (Semi-)recent escapades: Ireland, India, Peru, Cyprus, France, Greece, Australia. Where do you like to explore?
(P.S. - The whole "global warming" business has led me to join the Zeppelin lobby. Meanwhile, I'm indefinitely grounding myself on behalf of the planet.)

Cooks, pastry chefs, masseuses/masseurs, rock stars, writers, poets, artists, travelers, musicians, geeks, teachers, students, seekers, intellectualistas, activists, nannies, explorers of nature, devotees of the farmer's market. Scrabble buffs.

Testimonials and Comments for Matthew
posted and later deleted b/c he was too shy to
have it up in public. I'll let your imagination run
wild over that one over for awhile....... Okay, other
than that, it's been awhile since we've connected,
but I can assuredly state that Matthew is fun,
funny, smart, and great to talk to over the phone or
over a meal. And he also appreciates friendship
and community.
amidst thousands of gay marriages i
have grown to love and respect many
things about matthew. he is a man of
honesty. he is a man of integrity. he is a
man of astounding insight. he is a man
with unlimited bad jokes. he is a man
who taught me the meaning of E.M.O.
but what i respect most about this man
is the courage and zeal with which he
lives his life and his constant striving to
be a better matthew today than he was
the day before.
to have you, you are hard core and my
favorite liberal to debate! ha! but
politics aside, you always amuse and
surprise.
has been diluted and rendered hackneyed
by the greeting card industry, with the
collusion of ABC Family and the
fabricators of the Jessica Lynch story.
Which ticks me off because with Matthew
it's all true -- he's warm,
compassionate, selfless, ideological,
and courageous, and a real joy to know.
enjoying life again!

nice. He's an easy person to get along
with and very considerate. Not to
mention we're both Geminis and that
counts for much in my book.
lived with without being romantically
involved, and let me tell you ladies, he is
smart, funny and knows how to keep that
kitchen of ours spankin'. He also has a way
of pulling off polyester that I don't think I will
ever stop being jealous of:)
also exceptionally skilled at the art
of pina coladas. He is awesome to chill
with and is a great storyteller.
eccentric character. I am honored to
have him as a friend.
and a sense of adventure; Mathew is
seeking to maximize his experience and
isn't afraid to go for what he wants in
life. His open minded approach and
interest in getting to the heart of the
matter are a few of the many reasons I
enjoy his company. Thanks Matteo!
