I'm an ISTJ who grew up in Houston, Texas, went to college on the east coast, and have been around southern California ever since until the summer of 2007 when I moved up to Sacramento for my residency. I sure feel like a walking contradiction these days-- I couldn't have a bigger smile on my face when I'm climbing up a mountain, rafting down river rapids, or running on mile 25 with every muscle in my body cramping up... yet I love to sleep in on weekends or lounge around at home or at a coffee shop/book store. I've played the violin for over 23 years and am currently pursuing classical guitar with the hopes of playing some jazz and blues in the future... but sometimes I can't wait to blast some DJ Quik, Snoop Dogg, or Moby with the car windows down. I really enjoy trying out the nicer restaurants around LA, but I am just as content grabbing a burger and beer nearby. I get fired up when I play or coach any kind of sports (and I will try just about any sport!), but I am probably one of the most laid-back people in the bar after the game. I am not very good at coming up with ideas for great outings, but I excel when given the task of planning and following through with trip details.

While various parts of me tend to vascillate depending on my mood, I firmly believe in my devotion and loyalty to friends, my love for teaching and learning, and a passion for duty and accomplishing goals. I believe in having a balanced lifestyle AND taking time to smell the flowers. I like to think that I am a nice guy and even though I'm not the smartest cookie, I try hard to do my best.

I am always open to meeting sincere, friendly, active/semi-active people with a sense of humor... people willing to share and learn interests. (I'm willing to take someone new outdoors if they want!) I believe some of
the best experiences are those that are shared with others.
