      • About Me:

Maybe you read me in a women's studies class. Maybe you saw me in the waiting room at the doctor's office. Maybe your mom sheepishly shoved me into your suitcase as you were packing for college. Maybe you saw women examining their vaginas with mirrors and wondered where they got the idea.

For over 35 years I've helped women make informed choices about their health by providing truthful, straightforward information on everything from sex to body image to reproductive rights. I inspired the women's health movement back in the day. Nowadays I'm still working to break down the barriers of sexual, social, and economic inequalities with my newest edition.

Yeah, these are pretty large barriers to tackle, even if I am over 800 pages long. But now there's a nonprofit named after me. To read more about it, check out its website here .

And since I can't go more than 10 minutes without providing helpful health information, check out the Our Bodies Ourselves resource center for a searchable database of health information, health news, and free excerpts from my chapters by clicking here .

Our Bodies Ourselves is in the process of producing new books about women's health (books about pregnancy/childbirth and menopause are presently in the works) and translating/adapting me for use in different countries and cultures. We are also creating educational workshops and politically supporting women's health issues. In a few weeks, we also hope to launch a group for discussing women's health and feminist issues, right here on Friendster. Stay tuned!

All I can say is that your work truly benefits women and society. I am proud to own nearly every book you've ever published.

        Keep on keeping on.
